How long are Auto recalls good for? I seen my 97 dodge avenger had a recall in 2001 for ball joints failing and causeing lots of trouble. Well I don't see and stamps in my own's manul or visor(that's what they did when they fixed my kia recall). Anyone know how long this would be good for, and other ways to tell if your call has been thru the recall? Should I have to pay out of pocket for a vehicle recall? I was having a problem with my car stalling out when I came to stop, such as a stop sign or light. It would cut off, but then start back up. My check engine light was not coming on so it was hard to diagnose, I tried many different things that mechanics told me to do, finally it gave out and I had a harder time starting it back up. The check engine light finally came on when it got this bad and I took it in yet again. This time they told me that the code was for the crankshaft position sensor, and that it had been in a recall, and I needed to take it to the dealer. Is there a way to export Internet Explorer auto-complete passwords? I would like to do a clean install of Windows XP. I can export IE cookies and favorites to an external drive to be re-installed, but can't find any way to do the same with auto-complete login information. The Transfer Wizard has been suggested but the Wizard instructions state specifically that passwords are not transferred. I'm really not looking forward to re-entering hundreds of passwords. At least, the ones I can recall.

Will Cardinal Roger Mahoney realize that he has acted immorally? Cardinal Mahoney has finally apologized to the victims of priest sexual abuse. He and the Catholic church (unlike the teachings of the Catholic religion) have doggedly protected their priest sex offenders and stone-walled any attempts to bring the matter into the open and help to heal the victims. Only when he is being forced to testify has he made a deal to avoid having all of the facts come out. The church's actions remind me of the auto industry recall legal battles over faulty car designs. I would like to suggest that every Catholic worshiper refuse to donate money to the church for a period of three months to show your disgust with the corporate church mentality that puts product over safety of their faithful. I seriously doubt that there are any parishes in the US that exist hand-to-mouth. Three months lack of funds will not cause the AC to be turned off. In addition, remember that the church you attend is where you practice your faith, it IS NOT your faith. Think about it, the sexually violated parishioners have suffered far worse consequences than sitting for an hour in an un-air conditioned building. Willing parishioners could also form groups and worship at designated homes for the three month period. Something to consider. Bless the abused.

Honda Accord, 1999, Auto Trans: Starter turns over fine, but engine not firing. Suspect an override switch? I recall something of a transmssn switch that may be failing, it thinks car is not in park so is preventing the spark? I've been moving gear selector to try to reset this, no luck. Any ideas on a failed switch that prevents engine firing, and if this is accessible where I could repair? I'm handy, but have a appntmnt with Chevron svc tomorrow just in case? 01 chevy mailbu w/auto trans at times the car will loose power and the rpm goes very low. Any suggestions? I can do highway or city driving and it makes no difference.I have had the car tuned up, however the engine lite is on. My flat panel monitor has a lot of static.? It just started happening all of the sudden and i think its due to some unshielded speakers I had next to it. Theres no discoloration around but its just static all over the screen. Any ideas on how to fix it. Ask Bill Ford about the auto industry? In the early 1980's,I was a young woman searching for a vehicle with some male friends. I distinctly recall looking at a pick up truck. This was the object of affection for the young men I was with. As we were there at the dealership that sunny afternoon in Michigan. It struck me that the salesman largely ignored me. That was insulting but,unfortunately,not unexpected. The pickup truck that the young men were contemplating purchasing also largly ignored the female consumer as well. It struck me that the problem here with the industry in part was well,ignorance. If Ford, G.M. or any auto maker is comfortable enough with not targeting the female market and then ignoring this consumer or devaluing the female consumer when we do need to purchase a vehicle,this then is problematic. I recall that example as a young lady with a few young men looking at the pickup truck vividly. It was evident to me early on that the auto makers were not listening to the needs/wants of female consumers.

Do new car dealer repair shop rig future repairs? Hopefully this will be answered by those experienced in the business. From recent experience from two dealers it seems that when I brought my auto in for a repair (once a recall, another a warranty), not long if not immediately afterwards something new goes wrong with my truck or car. Of course it requires a dealer only supplied part and not covered under a warranty. It is already hard to trust new car dealers and this just makes me further suspicious of the dealerships practices.

My Envision Flat Panel Monitor is shaking and has lots of static.? I know that flat panel monitors cannot be degaussed but I believe these problems arose from the unshielded speakers that were there right next to the monitor. It was working fine one minute then the next the screen was shaking violently and there is tons of static. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem. I have already taken the speakers away and disconnected them from the outlet. The auto adjust and memory recall options on the monitor have done nothing for the problem and there is no degauss option.

How do I make the address bar on my PC auto populate the www before the website name? Just bought a new PC so that we can give the previous one to my son. The previous PC didnt require me to type the WWW before the website name, but this new one does. Not sure why??? When typing any website, I am required to type the full website. EX. www.yahoo.com. Please help. I don't recall ever setting the previous PC up to access websites without typing it in. I could just type on the website name (yahoo.com) and it would just take me there. I remember there was a thing saying that they did a study and found out that it would be more cost efficient to settle cases out of court than to initiate a recall.

Why do I have to keep my foot on the gas in order to keep my car from dying? I have this 2001 Ford Focus that started having problems when a friend drove it too fast over a steep railroad crossing. Sometimes the car will run fine but most of the time the car will start idling very rough and possibly stall. Car dramatically hesitates at stop lights or after slowing down to make a turn. Car accelerates very hard at higher RPM's but seems sorta sluggish at lower RPM's. The check engine light came on and auto-zone read the code as a P0102 low voltage / low frequency to mass airflow sensor. I have bought part after part to try and fix this car. I had the fuel pump replaced under a recall, I changed the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and wires, pvc valve is brand new, and I also bought a new Mass Airflow Sensor and piggy back wiring harness cause a wire came out of the MAF sensor. I have eliminated the possibility of the EGR valve being at fault and I have inspected my entire fuel line and exhaust line for any dents that may have been the case. Thanks. By the way...the car has over 150,000 miles and I have to push in the accelerator to start the car. Thanks for your help.

Question about Auto Focus Lens on DSLR? I read something in passing on the net, can't recall all the details but it was something like if you have DSLR w/ auto focus and you were auto focused at certain focal length and then you turn off the camera, when you turn back on, the focus is messed up so you have to re-focus at infinity and then turn it back off and on, etc.etc I know have the details missing, but can anyone explain this? (I don't yet have DSLR, just in the process of learning and shopping around for one). THANKS.

What is the position of American Unions with respect to illegal immigration? I don't recall seeing much from the Unions in the Press. I would think they see illegals as scabs crossing the picket line (the US border). Average American wages have fallen in construction (framers, landscaping, etc.) and service (hotel cleaning, etc.) industries. I would think it's only a matter of time when coveted jobs like auto manufacturing, trucking, steel work, and others would eventually suffer a wage drop. Can any Union members share some info?
